Now that Bill Cosby has been released from prison — years earlier than his expected sentence would have held him — multiple women who accused the 83-year-old comedian of sexual misconduct have come forward to express their frustration at the legal loopholes that allowed him to walk free.
Speaking in a group interview with NBC News' Kate Snow, eight of Cosby's accusers agreed that they are "absolutely" angry with the termination of his sentence and expressed that they were "stunned" by the news, Deadline reports.
"As the day went on, and I had to continue talking about it to the media, the anger just kept growing and growing and growing," accuser Victoria Valentino told Snow during the segment. "And by the end of the day, I was just livid, just livid."
She continued: "I'm angry at the legal system because they threw us really under the bus."
Cosby was found guilty in 2018 of drugging and molesting ex-basketball player Andrea Constand back in 2004. He was released from prison on June 30 this year, after serving more than two years of his sentence, which would have kept him behind bars for three to 10 years.
The comedian's sentence was overturned by Pennsylvania's highest court after a 79-page finding showed that an agreement with a previous prosecutor prevented Cosby from being charged in the case. The Supreme Court judges also found that testimonies from accusers unrelated to the case had led the trial against Cosby to be tainted.
