After wrapping up Daniel Craig and the Weeknd's guest spots earlier this month, Saturday Night Live appears to be taking a break from broadcasting in keeping with social distancing recommendations in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Variety confirmed earlier today that the next episode — scheduled to tape on March 28 in New York City and set to feature John Krasinski and Dua Lipa — likely won't air until at least next month. Additionally, Variety reports that SNL will postpone the taping of at least two more episodes beyond March 28.
Bearing in mind that a great deal of the show's filming takes place in front of a large studio audience, it makes sense that growing concerns about coronavirus would affect SNL's viability going forward into this crisis. Fortunately, there are plenty of old sketches to rewatch in the meantime.
In the midst of this crisis, Krasinski himself has had to postpone the release of his own film A Quiet Place Part II. Dua Lipa's European spring tour remains unaffected for the time being.
