The Toronto Comics Arts Festival (TCAF) has shared specifics for its 2023 edition. From April 28 to 30, the exhibition will make itself at home at the Toronto Reference Library.
Boasting guests such as Zainab Akhtar, Eric Kostiuk Williams, Cole Pauls, Tillie Walden and James Spooner, tickets for TCAF and its associated programming will be free. Like last year's festival, there will be an online component with virtual events running from April 21 through to May 7.
Other speakers for the festival include but aren't limited to: Breena Nuñez, Lawrence Lindell, Tommi Parrish, Nina Bunjevac, Rina Ayuyang, Lorenz Peter, Victoria Ying, J. Torres, David Namisato, Ryan North & Erica Henderson, Joy San, Sammy Harkham, Anna Haifisch, Joe Kessler, Fanny Britt & Isabelle Arsenault, Megan Kelso and Cory Silverberg alongside Fiona Smyth (a regular Exclaim! Comics contributor).
On top of featuring guest speakers from within the world of comic writing, there will be a full day of professional development events on April 28 through TCAF's World Balloon Academy. Entertainment lawyers from Edwards Creative Law and various comic publishers will offer insights into the nitty gritty of the comic industry.
TCAF will also have special programming for kids, partnering with Story Planet to run creative writing workshops to help build literary and storytelling skills for young writers.
More details about TCAF 2023 and pre-registry for some of its online events can be found on the festival's website.
