Denis Villeneuve in Talks to Direct 'Dune' Remake

Denis Villeneuve has led a long and varied career, but he's quickly becoming Hollywood's go-to guy for sci-fi and fantasy. Following the excellent Arrival and next year's Blade Runner 2049, the director is now in talks to helm a remake of Dune.

Details are incredibly scarce, but Variety explains that Villeneuve is in talks to direct the forthcoming reboot from Legendary Pictures.

The Frank Herbert novel was previously adapted by David Lynch for the divisive 1984 film. Otherwise, we've been desperate to see what Alejandro Jodorowsky's interpretation would have looked like.

Still, if anyone can handle this remake with grace, it's Denis Villeneuve. Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops.
