Last month, Harvey Weinstein turned himself in to police in New York on charges of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct charges. This morning, he pleaded not guilty to all charges at New York Supreme Court.
The hearing lasted about 30 minutes, and Weinstein's primary lawyer Benjamin Brafman said, "However reprehensible the crime of rape may be, it is equally reprehensible to falsely accuse someone of rape."
Further, when asked about Weinstein's notorious alleged behaviour in the casting process of his films, Brafman said, "My job is to defend specific allegations. My job is not to defend what some may call inappropriate behaviour that may not rise to the level of criminal."
Weinstein is expected back in court on September 20.
