As expected, Harvey Weinstein has turned himself in to police in New York on charges of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct charges.
He faces charges from encounters involving two women, including Lucia Evans.
The actress was one of the first women to go public with her story last fall in the New Yorker exposé, alleging that Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him at the Weinstein Company offices.
According to the Associated Press, the case also includes another victim, who has not spoken out publicly.
It is the first criminal case to be brought against Weinstein since the deluge of accusations of sexual misconduct surfaced last October.
To date, more than 75 women have accused the Hollywood producer of sexual misconduct. Authorities in California and London are still investigating assault allegations.
Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
