Get ready to peel back some layers: Netflix has officially released the first teaser trailer for the heavily anticipated Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
Starring Daniel Craig, Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline and Kate Hudson, the follow-up to Rian Johnson's 2019 whodunit is set to take place in the picturesque Mediterranean, with Detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) travelling to Greece to solve a new mystery involving another colourful cast of suspects.
While the 90-second teaser doesn't give much away, there will be plenty of island partying, gun shows of more than one variety, and plenty of this-is-not-a-game murder mystery gameplay.
"The phrase I kept coming back to and talking about the first movie is, 'It's a roller coaster and not a crossword puzzle,'" Johnson said in a press release. "It's a common mistake in writing whodunits, thinking that you're making a crossword puzzle, and that the fun is that the audience is actually going to analyze all this and figure it out."
As the Beatles once put it: "To see how the other half live / Look through the glass onion."
Watch the teaser trailer below, ahead of the film's worldwide arrival on the streamer on December 23.
