Here's Your First Look at HBO's Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds Documentary

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jan 4, 2017

Hollywood lost beloved mother-daughter duo Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher over the holidays, and as a result, HBO has pushed up the release of an upcoming documentary about the pair.

The film is titled Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, and it explores the family's "complicated love," while portraying "an intimate portrait of Hollywood royalty in all its eccentricity."

The film was directed by Alexis Bloom and Fisher Stevens over the course of 2014 and 2015, in the lead-up to Reynolds's Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award — which was presented to her by Fisher.

Home movies, archival footage and interviews are pieced together to tell the story, and you'll be able to see it all for yourself when it airs on January 7 on HBO.

Right now, though, get a sneak peek at Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds by watching the trailer below.
