Including 'The Lighthouse' and 'The Kid Detective'

Happy September! Whether you're heading back to school or hunkering down in anticipation of colder weather, CBC Gem is here to bring some free streaming content to Canadians.

This month brings some Canadian feature films: The O.C.'s Adam Brody stars in the crime-solving dark comedy The Kid Detective, while Black Conflux is a drama confronting womanhood and toxic masculinity, and Robert Eggers's horror flick The Lighthouse is wonderfully weird.

On the documentary front, Telling Our Stories highlights Indigenous peoples, and The Mum Who Got Tourette's is about a woman who developed Tourette's at age 40.

There's also plenty of sports, kids' shows and some reality TV. See the schedule below, and also check out the September 2023 schedules for Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+ and Disney+.
