This spring, from April 28 to May 8, the Hot Docs festival will once again return with, well, the hottest docs out there. Before the full lineup is unveiled, festival organizers have now announced 15 entries for their Special Presentations program.
There are plenty of hotly tipped documentaries covering a wide array of topics in this category.
Music fans will be happy to note that the lineup includes Gary Numan: Android in La La Land as well as the southern blues doc I Am the Blues.
There's also Strike a Pose, a documentary that follows the lives of the dancers from Madonna's Truth or Dare concert film. In the dance realm, Mr. Gaga follows the creative process of Israeli chroeographer Ohad Naharin.
Comedy fans will also be pleased with the selection, as the fest will show Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You and the Upright Citizens Brigade-themed Thank You Del: The Story of the Del Close Marathon.
Werner Herzog's internet movie Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World will also play at the fest alongside the New York Times-themed doc Obit and the Marshall McLuhan-inspired Spaceship Earth.
The lineup is rounded out with Ants on a Shrimp, Audrie & Daisy, The Peacemaker, Unlocking the Cage, Weiner and What Tomorrow Brings.
The remainder of the Hot Docs lineup will be unveiled on March 22.
