After sharing news of her non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis earlier this year, Jane Fonda is celebrating her birthday early by announcing that she is officially in remission.
The almost-85-year-old announced her health milestone in a blog post called BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!: "Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo."
She wrote, "I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news."
The activist/actor shared that while her "first four chemo treatments were rather easy," the final round "was rough and lasted two weeks, making it hard to accomplish much of anything."
With her health back on track, it likely won't be long until Fonda is back in D.C. protesting climate change with her Fire Drill Fridays, calling to upend racial injustice or rallying for any number of social issues. Here's hoping the police go easy on her amid her recovery.
