Ex Machina director Alex Garland has returned to A24 for his next feature, Men, starring the excellent Jessie Buckley.
Today, the film is being previewed with its first teaser clip, which finds a lone woman, Harper (Buckley), being stalked by an unknown spooky entity as her voice, echoed through a dark tunnel, reverberates on repeat.
As per Deadline, the film will follow Buckley's character, who "retreats alone to the beautiful English countryside in the aftermath of a personal tragedy, hoping to have found a place to heal." The healing doesn't last long, however, as someone (or something) is lurking in the surrounding woods watching her every move.
The film is due to arrive on May 20 and also stars Rory Kinnear and Paapa Essiedu.
Men will mark Garland's first feature since 2018's Annihilation, and his second film for A24. Meanwhile, Buckley is fresh off of a bucketload of nominations and wins for her appearance in last year's The Lost Daughter.
