McDonald's Customers Are Seriously Disappointed by 'Rick and Morty' Szechuan Sauce

"I would rather dip a nugget in Bigfoot's butt crack than ever taste this swill again"

Last fall, fans of Rick and Morty proved just how high their IQs really are by rioting at McDonald's locations across the United States in the name of Szechuan sauce. After all that, the sauce made a return to menus Monday (February 26) after being repopularized by the hit cartoon series — though some customers were left painfully disappointed by the condiment.

Business Insider points out that plenty of fast-food patrons were less than impressed by the sauce, with one customer writing on Facebook that they would "rather dip a nugget in Bigfoot's butt crack than ever taste this swill again." Twitter user @ItsRetroNemo wrote, "I thought my son was the biggest disappointment in my life then I tried McDonald's Szechuan sauce."

Other users that ended up securing a few of the restaurant's 20 million packets deemed the sauce "definitely not bad, however it's definitely not good," and "not worth rioting over."

In its own review of the condiment, Business Insider deemed it "goopy, sweet, and very salty — and, in its own right, it's a pretty tasty option."

After making a reference to the sauce in an episode, McDonald's brought the sauce to restaurants for a limited time in some Ricky and Morty-themed packaging. Fans promptly ran the restaurants clean out of packets, causing plenty of other diehards to flip the fuck out.

One fan was desperate enough to reportedly trade a car for the sauce, while those who had the financial means were able to secure larger quantities of the stuff for themselves.
