National Lampoon's Dorm Daze

I am sure during the production of this film people could not stop laughing, constantly interrupting takes because someone got a case of the giggles. They probably thought they were making the next Animal House. Well the Trojans thought the horse a friendly gift. Dorm Daze is full of misunderstandings, stupid coincidences and the never-ending sausage double-entendre, in which a student buys a French sausage and suddenly a hooker named Dominique, who's trying to find one of her clients, believes he is the man she's looking for. On the same day a French foreign exchange student, also coincidently named Dominique, comes to the dorm and the student who bought the sausage thinks the hooker is the FES. Even when you think the writers could not write more stupidity into the plot, a girl mistaken for a drug dealer gets a load of money and the hooker attempts to steal it. Add to this a man trying to attack the FES because he thinks it's the hooker, while the two most annoying and shrill girls on the planet believe their friend is getting beaten by her boyfriend. There are about four more storylines going on in this dorm. You want the full story? Here it is: some crazy series of stupid accidents by stupid people. Where things are increasingly misunderstood, the supposed comedy escalates to where a funny conclusion should have been included; Van Wilder looks like a classic when compared to this sloppy, aggravating, moronic mess. Van Wilder was funny, it was actually gross when it needed to be, but it was disposable. When a critic calls a movie they liked better than yours disposable, you have made a true stink bomb. The extras include a gag reel, deleted scenes, the original trailer and National Lampoon's "Master Debaters," which is something like you would see on Comedy Central. The extras are not worth a look because like the movie, they just are not funny. (MGM)
