Neill Blomkamp's 'Alien' Sequel to Arrive After 'Paradise Lost'

We're about to spend a whole lot of time with the creepy space dudes from Alien. Just yesterday, Ridley Scott revealed that his Prometheus sequel will be called Alien: Paradise Lost. That had fans curious if director Neill Blomkamp's Alien sequel had been shelved, but fortunately it's still on the way.

Speaking with AICN [via Bloody Disgusting], Scott revealed that he's serving as a producer on Blomkamp's Alien sequel. "The design is for it to go out next, after this," he said, referring to Paradise Lost. "This will go out first. It's more associated with Ripley, it's a completely different angle, it's more of a sequel. I'm coming in from the back end. I've even got connections with Ripley [in this], but I'm not telling you what."

Speaking of Ellen Ripley, Sigourney Weaver has long been rumoured for a role in Blomkamp's Alien. Only time will tell if she makes the final cut, though she doesn't seem to mind reprising old roles lately.

Meanwhile, Alien: Paradise Lost is set to begin production early next year.
