After cancelling a handful of shows in 2019, Netflix has opted to start the new year off on a positive note by renewing their series Raising Dion.
The show stems from executive producer Michael B. Jordan, who also appears in the series. It's based on the short film and comic book from music video director Dennis Liu, and its showrunner is Carol Barbee (Jericho/Touch).
In addition to Jordan, the film stars Ja-Siah Young and Alisha Wainwright. Season 2 will see Jason Ritter join the cast.
The show debuted in October to mostly positive reviews. The new season will be composed of eight episodes, and will go into production this year.
