The Law & Order franchise is set to come to Canada, with news of a northern edition arriving in spring 2024.
Today, CityTV announced they have greenlit a one-hour spinoff titled Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.
Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is said to follow "an elite squad of detectives who investigate high-profile crime and corruption in metro Toronto," while the Canadian Press notes that the spinoff will "showcase original Canadian stories" written and produced by a Canadian team.
Created by Dick Wolf and produced by Wolf Entertainment, the Law & Order franchise has also set international spinoffs in France, Russia and the UK.
This past April, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime were all renewed for new seasons at NBC. For the flagship series, the new episodes will comprise its 23rd season on the air.
