Veteran director Quentin Tarantino has said that he'll only make two more movies before retiring. We know that his next project is a film about Charles Manson, and now it looks as if his potential last project could be a Star Trek movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino has an idea for a Star Trek film, and he's already been talking to producer J.J. Abrams about the project.
Apparently, the pair are working with Paramount to flesh out the idea in a writers room. If it makes it past that phase, Tarantino plans to direct.
In a 2015 interview with Nerdist, Tarantino revealed himself to be quite a Trekkie, adding that he'd love to turn an early episode into a film. "The only thing that limited them was their '60s budget and eight-day shooting schedule," he said. "You could take some of the classic Star Trek episodes and easily expand them to 90 minutes or more and really do some amazing, amazing stuff."
