Ridley Scott is once again reviving his Alien film franchise for another new instalment.
The proposed prequel film will stand as a direct follow-up to 2017's Alien: Covenant and 2012's Prometheus. At this point, though, the film is in its early stages, with Variety reporting Scott is currently working on the script. But when the film does arrive, he will be back in the director's chair.
At one point, the title of Alien: Awakening was floated. However, it's unclear if that's the title Scott will be sticking with.
Of course, the news comes as the Alien franchise celebrates its 40th anniversary, and the upcoming film would mark the first to come via Disney — which acquired previous Alien owner 21st Century Fox.
At this point, though, Disney has not confirmed the arrival of a new Alien film, and it's unclear when production could start on the upcoming project.
For now, stay tuned.
