We recently learned Chris Rock is behind an upcoming reboot of Saw, and now the film's casting has been rounded out with the news that Samuel L. Jackson will appear in the horror flick.
When the film was initially announced, we learned that Rock was behind the story but it wasn't exactly clear if he'd act in the film. We now know Rock will play a detective investigating a series of brutal crimes.
Jackson, meanwhile, has signed on to play Rock's father. Now that the film has gone into production, we have also learned the film's cast will include Max Minghella, Wiliam Schenk and Marisol Nichols.
"We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can't wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise," Lionsgate chairman Joe Drake said. "This is next level of Saw on full tilt."
The film will be released on October 23, 2020.
