After sharing news of the project this past February, Simu Liu has detailed his forthcoming family memoir We Were Dreamers, along with an accompanying book tour.
Arriving in May via HarperCollins, We Were Dreamers is said to chronicle the "inspiring and unexpected origin story" of the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star, in which he writes of "growing up between cultures, finding ... family and becoming the master of your own extraordinary circumstances."
As for the book tour, Liu will begin his itinerary of signing and speaking events at Toronto's Hot Docs Theatre on May 13. After he hosts the 2022 Juno Awards on May 15, he will then travel to seven other international cities.
UPDATE (5/16, 3:43 p.m. ET): A second Canadian tour date has been added in Vancouver on June 13. See the updated schedule below.
In announcing the We Were Dreamers tour, Liu shared that he'll be joined at the events by friends and special guests like his Kim's Convenience co-star Andrew Phung, Jubilee Media founder Jason Y. Lee and more. "We're all gonna sit down and have great conversations over an imaginary fireside… because a real one would be a fire hazard," Liu joked.
Liu's book tour itinerary can be found below, with further ticketing information available here.
We Were Dreamers arrives May 17 in Canada and the US, and May 26 in the UK. The book is now available for pre-order.
