Later this week, Daniel Craig will suit up as James Bond one last time in the Cary Fukunaga-directed No Time to Die, and the film's producer has shared that the search for a successor spy will not begin until next year.
Appearing on BBC Radio 4's Today program [via Deadline], producer Barbara Broccoli joked that she was "in denial" about Craig leaving the franchise after playing Bond for five straight films: 2006's Casino Royale, 2008's Quantum of Solace, 2012's Skyfall, 2015's Spectre and No Time to Die, which arrives in theatres September 30.
"We want Daniel to have his time of celebration," she shared. "Next year we'll start thinking about the future."
"He knew it would change his life, which it obviously has," Broccoli added of Craig's five-film run. "He enabled us to explore the emotional life of Bond, to go deeply into the personal, complexity of the character."
No Time to Die also stars Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, Ralph Fiennes, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen and David Dencik. Watch a trailer for the film here.
As revealed last year, Billie Eilish is the latest artist to hold the honour of performing the film's title theme.
