Cult horror classic The Craft is returning for a whole new generation of witches, and today we have our first sneak peak at the 2020 reboot in a new trailer.
As previously reported, the film was written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones. It's now being billed as the story of "an eclectic foursome of aspiring teenage witches [who] get more than they bargained for as they lean into their newfound powers."
In the first official trailer, there are a few callbacks to the original 1996 film, including the "we are the weirdos, mister" line and an image of original Craft star Fairuza Balk. Other than that, the reboot appears to be its own beast altogether, looking more like a spooky CW teen drama than a true '90s throwback.
Lister-Jones's reboot stars Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna and Nicholas Galitzine, as well as Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny.
The movie will debut on VOD services — just in time for a stay-at-home Halloween — on October 28 "at the Witching Hour."
