Andrzej Sapkowski's book series The Witcher has already inspired a movie and subsequent television as The Hexer (released in 2001 and 2002, respectively), but it's best known as the wildly popular trilogy of high-brow RPG videogames. Perhaps proving the story's versatility, it'll now be transported to the big screen with a new movie adaptation.

The stories are being adapted by Thania St. John, best known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oscar-nominated The Cathedral filmmaker Tomasz Bagiński is slated to direct the film.
