In addition to being responsible for some of hard rock's catchiest guitar riffs, AC/DC are one of the most distinctive-looking bands around - how could anybody forget Angus Young's schoolboy outfit or Brian Johnson's newsboy cap? It's fitting, then, that rock journalist Phil Sutcliffe will be documenting the group's history with a new picture book, due out this fall.
On October 15, Voyageur Press will release AC/DC High-Voltage Rock 'N' Roll: The Ultimate Illustrated History. It will bring together the usual press shots and concert photos with candid pictures, handbills, concert posters, backstage passes and vinyl.
The book will cover the band's entire history, from their formation in 1973 to the present day. Some notable milestones along the way include the death of original singer Bon Scott in 1980 and the group's commercial explosion with Back in Black soon after.
In addition to containing pictures, the book includes essays and sidebars that discuss the albums, personnel changes, guitar gear and more. Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott wrote the afterword.
You can look at the pictures and pre-order the book over at Amazon.
