Acorn front-man Rolf Klausener readily admitted the difficulty his Ottawa ensemble faced in following the rapturous Plants and Animals at the Horseshoe. Choosing a subdued track to open their set didnt win much early support for the band, but thankfully they quickly realised the crowds mood required something more boisterous. Keeping the pace elevated with wonderfully syncopated worldly pop dressed in sophisticated jazz pants, the Acorn proved themselves easily among the countrys most adept crafters of musically complex and melodically beautiful tunes.
