Taking over from where his Swedish compatriot Jesper Dahlbeck left off on the first two editions of Stockholm Mix Sessions, Adam Beyer has been enlisted by booming Montreal label Turbo Records for volume three. Instead of the tech-house feel his predecessor brought, internationally renowned jockey Beyer brings his patented brand of soulful techno to the tables. Though the experienced producer only includes two of his own tracks, he manages to maintain a relatively consistent sound by going to the best of the second generation Detroit icons like Jeff Mills, Kenny Larkin and Kevin Saunderson. Beyer uses his patented three-turntable technique to almost perfectly mix the mechanical with the organic, making the record pulses like both a piston and a heartbeat.
