Canadian Black music collective ADVANCE has shared details of its new podcast. With a fresh episode dropping every Thursday, AMPLIFY will take a deep dive into the stories of some of the most prominent Black Canadians in the entertainment industry.
The first episode is available to stream today, with all eight episodes hosted by singer, actress and radio personality Jemeni.
"I'm hoping this podcast is able to uplift, inspire, empower and encourage its audience to pursue their goals, to know their greatness, to celebrate those already doing it and encourage them to take up space, because it is theirs to take," says the host.
Celebrating both English-speaking and francophone industry professionals, six of AMPLIFY's episodes will be in English, while two will be in French, chronicling Black entertainment workers' journeys within Quebec. All the episodes were shot and produced by an entirely Black team, and will feature candid interviews from the likes of Honey Jam founder Ebonnie Rowe, guest co-host of ET Canada Jesse Jones, DJ Lissa Monet and many other entertainment personalities.
In releasing AMPLIFY, ADVANCE hopes to continue its mission to address racial equality and inclusivity through three areas: advocacy, mentorship and community outreach.
