Former Dirty Beaches mastermind Alex Zhang Hungtai continues to deliver new works at a remarkable pace. This year, he's set to return with a new LP called Divine Weight.
The release is said to be made up of the artist's "failed" attempts at saxophone compositions, all of which were "digitally disfigured" to form the material on the album's five tracks.
Further, the album was reportedly inspired by Alejandro Jodorowsky's Psychomagic.
"To witness, is to believe. To believe, is to project a certain reality onto the external world," a press release states. "The projection then, has nothing to do with reality. Perhaps it's where dreams go, after it dies."
Divine Weight will arrive on June 29 via NON Worldwide. Album opener "Pierrot" can be streamed below.
Divine Weight:
1. Pierrot
2. Matrimony
3. This Is Not My Country
