Ali Seifi

Well, you can't knock Ali Seifi for a lack of ambition. Based in North Vancouver, Seifi is a vocalist, pianist, guitarist, bassist, songwriter and aspiring producer. His debut solo EP, Ali Seifi, is the sound of a somewhat talented musician with questionable vocal and lyrical abilities. The general vibe of the EP is loose; it isn't cohesive or entirely realised, and even for an amateur artist the result is underwhelming. Songs like "S&Man" and "Save Me" are too hard to take seriously, and the emotions Seifi is intent on expressing are lost completely with his delivery. It's MOR amateur pop that suffers from far too many setbacks to be taken as an artistically or commercially credible venture.
