It's been two long years since Anderson .Paak delivered his debut album Malibu, and fans are desperate for a follow-up. Fortunately, the artist has shared some details from the project.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, the performer shared plenty of details about his sophomore effort. The release is called Oxnard, and it will mark his first album for Dr. Dre's Aftermath label.

Anderson .Paak confirmed that Dr. Dre played a fundamental role in crafting the album, but he wasn't the only producer involved. Beloved beatmaker Madlib also submitted tracks, which were later remixed by Dre.

"I'm truly grateful to be able to have something like that on the album, to have something where Dre and Madlib were working simultaneously on something," .Paak said. "The epitome, man."

As if that weren't enough, .Paak indirectly linked the album to some truly ambitious projects.

"I feel like ambition is missing from today's music," he explained. "This is the album I dreamed of making in high school, when I was listening to [Jay-Z]'s The Blueprint, the Game's The Documentary, and [Kanye West's] The College Dropout."

Stay tuned for more details on Oxnard as they become available. The album is expected to arrive by the end of the year.
