Party-loving rocker and sometimes lecturer Andrew W.K. has faced much scrutiny over the last few years about the various conspiracies that follow his identity. But whether he's the same Andrew W.K. that always was or another man filling the W.K. role for a sinister committee is not the point. It's that no matter who W.K. is, he makes us want to party. That's why we're happy to announce the rocker has a new album in store for us, as well as some Canadian tour dates.

While little is known about the new album, W.K. has been dropping hints on his always-amusing Twitter account and surprise, surprise, the album is about partying. "Do you realize I'm recording my new full-length party album? IT IS A MEGA PARTY VIBE. Behind the scenes videos coming soon," he wrote on Tuesday (April 19).

To prove the severity of our need to have a good time, W.K. followed that up with a more sombre Tweet today (April 20), writing, "Almost all depression, violence, war, and poverty is caused by a shortage of party. IT'S OUR DUTY TO PARTY FOR A BETTER WORLD."

But it doesn't stop with an album: W.K. is gearing up to bring the good times gospel across North America on a brief spring tour. After two dates in California, W.K. will attract beer-swilling crowds to venues in Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. All dates are available below.

Tour dates:

4/22 Irvine, CA - UC Irvine
5/10 Los Angeles, CA - Echoplex
5/26 Toronto, ON - The Sound Academy
5/27 Edmonton, AB - The Pawn Shop
5/29 Calgary, AB - Republik
