Antemasque

"4AM" / "Hangin' in the Lurch"

When Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea united with former Mars Volta members Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Dave Elitch to form the new supergroup Antemasque, we speculated that that we were likely to hear from the band soon. Sure enough, they've since posted a couple of songs on Bandcamp.

"Hangin' in the Lurch" and "4AM" are fast-moving, intricately punchy rock songs. Both are art-y, punk-y blasts of angular guitars with that last for a little less than three minutes apiece (making them a lot more concise than some of the Mars Volta's more sprawling works).

They were produced by Rodriguez-Lopez. Listen below.
