Arch Enemy

Burning Bridges

Thank the gods we have Arch Enemy now that Entombed completely suck. Since our favourite Swedish metallers have sold the farm, the lads in Arch Enemy have managed to fill the vacancy quite nicely as album number three is another fine effort. Starting with the Iron Maiden-like melodies of “The Immortal,” the eight tracks contained within stand-up quite nicely with recent releases from the Haunted and Witchery as some of the best Swedish metal in recent times. That may very well be due to the fact that Witchery bassist Sharlee D’Angelo has joined the ranks of the band, but when the rest of your group consists of former members of Carcass, Carnage and In Flames, how could you possibly suck?
