Having announced late last year that they had signed to New Damage Records in Canada, UK metalcore vets Architects have now unveiled the details behind their first album for the label, Lost Forever, Lost Together.
The record arrives in Canada via New Damage on March 11, with the U.S. release being handled the same day by Epitaph. The album comes out a day earlier overseas through UNFD.
As previously reported, the band went out to Gothenburg, Sweden's Studio Fredman this winter to record with producers Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd (Bring Me the Horizon). While Architects had previously noted that the sessions were "sounding splendid," a press release gives a fuller idea of what to expect.
Apparently, the 11-song set still has the band delivering their "blend of brutal, thundering metal and melody-spiked hardcore," though more ambient tones and the influence of post-rock outfits like This Will Destroy You and Sigur Rós are also said to mark the effort.
Lyrically, vocalist Sam Carter weigh in on topics like the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster and his bout with skin cancer, while the album title was inspired by the set's "Youth Is Wasted on the Young" ("We're all lost. Everyone's just trying to find their place, and hopefully we'll all get there eventually," Carter says).
