Last summer, we reported that smart-alecky Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner would be producing the score for Submarine, a teenage virginity-losing comedy directed by Richard Ayoade. The film is due for a limited release this March, and we've learned that the soundtrack will be out that month as well.
We already knew that Turner collaborated on the score with Simian Mobile Disco member James Ford, which might suggest a heavy-hitting club album. However, according to HitFix [via TwentyFourBit], the score features sparse arrangements that focus on acoustic guitar, piano and Turner's own vocals.
Turner's score will be released on CD and ten-inch vinyl, as well as digitally, on March 14 via Domino in the UK. You can see the cover art above and the tracklist below. The film itself is due out in theatres on March 18.
Meanwhile, the Arctic Monkeys are said to be hard at work on a new album which is expected to be released this year.
Submarine:
1. "Stuck On The Puzzle (Intro)"
2. "Hiding Tonight"
3. "Glass In The Park"
4. "It's Hard To Get Around The Wind"
5. "Stuck On The Puzzle"
6. "Piledriver Waltz"
