Ariana Grande Shades Travis Scott over Album Sales

It follows Nicki Minaj blasting the rapper over unfair chart tactics

Ariana Grande dropped Sweetener last week, and she's hoping to unseat Travis Scott's No. 1 standing on the charts — especially since her bestie Nicki Minaj couldn't do so last week.

During a fan session last night (August 22) in Chicago, Grande's manager Scooter Braun predicted that her record would land at No. 1, to which Grande responded: "We got three days left, you don't know what Travis could pull."

She seemed to say it jokingly, though taking shots at Scott isn't too outlandish, given Grande and Minaj's BFF-ship and recent collaborative streak.

UPDATE (8/23, 3:10 p.m. EDT): Seems like it was, indeed, all in good fun. See her response on Twitter below.

As previously reported, Minaj accused Scott of skewing his album sales by offering tour bundles with copies of his album Astroworld prior to even announcing tour dates. She also called out Scott's girlfriend Kylie Jenner for using herself and the couple's child Stormi to promo the record and tour.

Then, on Tuesday (August 21), she took to her Queen Radio airwaves on Beats 1 and continued to lash out at Scott's supposedly shady tactics, saying, "Travis Scott is out here selling fucking clothes, and he got y'all thinking he's selling fucking music."

As it stands right now, Grande is on track to have the No. 1 album this week. Let's just hope it doesn't ruin her friendship with Minaj.
