Believe it or not, San Diego metalcore unit As I Lay Dying have been throwing it down for ten years now. Since their beginnings, the group have issued five studio albums and toured the globe countless times. To mark the occasion, the band have put together a new compilation collecting new tunes, cover songs an some remixes called Decas.
A press release explains that the set, which drops November 8 via Metal Blade Records, will feature three new crunchy tunes ("Paralyzed," "From Shapeless to Breakable" and "Moving Forward") and a re-recording of one of their earliest tunes, "Beneath the Encasing of Ashes," originally from the 2001 album of the same name. On top of that, the compilation gathers covers of some of their favourite bands (Slayer, Judas Priest, the Descendents) and remixes courtesy of Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman, Innerpartysystem and more. Further celebrating their anniversary, As I Lay Dying will be heading out on their two-week "A Decade of Destruction" tour that takes them from New York to a hometown show in San Diego. The band will be joined on the trip by Of Mice and Men, the Ghost Inside, iwrestledabearonce and Sylosis. There are no Canadian shows scheduled, regrettably, but you can see the dates below.
