Asperity

Featuring two former members of Steel Attack along with some of the current incarnation of Carnal Forge, Asperity plays a style of metal quite different than its origins, a mixture of both classic and power metal. The band mixes both melodies and catchy, heavy riffs in their songs. The results are pleasing, but not amazing. It is not a masterpiece, but it is music that comes from the heart, an album with good songs and ultimately something that will have the diehards headbanging before they know it. Perhaps they need something to spice things up at times, but the overall quality of the album is enough to be a recommended buy.
