Prosecutors have dismissed assault charges against Tool drummer Danny Carey following his 2021 arrest for alleged misdemeanour assault.
As Fox 4 Kansas City reports, the court did not provide a reason for the dismissal of Carey's charges, more than a year after he was arrested for misdemeanour assault at Kansas City International Airport.
Carey, who grew up in Kansas, was allegedly involved in a dispute with another man in an airport terminal on December 12, 2021.
A prior Fox 4 report notes that per a ticket issued by officers, Carey allegedly yelled a homophobic slur at the victim "repeatedly while jabbing the victim in the chest with two fingers."
The day prior to his arrest (December 11), Carey performed alongside the University of Kansas marching band at a college basketball game between the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks.
Last year, Carey and his Tool bandmates finally brought the ultra-deluxe vinyl edition of their Fear Inoculum album into the world — a version that was followed by a less deluxe, more affordable version.
