Brooklyn, NY-based trio Awesome Color have announced the details for their third album. The band released two stellar albums of psych-influenced garage punk since forming in 2004, both of which were released by Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace imprint, earning them more than a few comparisons to the Stooges and Spacemen 3.
The album is called Massa Hypnos and will once again be put out by Ecstatic Peace. The label is currently hosting opening rager "Transparent"here, and if the rest of the record is as voluminous and exciting, expect this to be dominating your summer playlists.
Massa Hypnos is due in stores on April 6. Awesome Color are currently wrapping up a U.S. tour with Tyvek, which will be followed by a Canada-heavy trip this April. It would be nice if they'd add a "u" to their name while they're in our country, but we don't want to be too picky. All dates are below.
