Azealia Banks Tries (and Fails) to Reignite Grimes Beef

"Even after all this, I want you to win," Grimes rebuffed

Perhaps a bit bored after issuing a cease-and-desist to Matty Healy, Azealia Banks attempted to get back into it with one of her most famous opps, Grimes.

The mid-off was nearly reignited after a Twitter X user posted an edited still from Wicked, depicting Banks as Elphaba and Grimes as Glinda. To which Grimes replied, "Hate to say it but wouldve [sic] been kinda lit."

In her typical fashion, Banks saw this as shade, and tried to reignite a keyboard war by dragging the musician born Claire Boucher's kids with Elon Musk into the conversation. "@Grimezsz girl the way u are still trying to hold out on some weird ass innocent bullshit years later after u got dumped, cheated on, ur kids kidnapped and still trying to paint me like the villian and act like ur above me when ur getting sonned by elons secretary [sic]," she posted.

Banks continued: "... ur the one that literally did not make the fucking music and Elon is the one who harvested ur eggs and took a picture of your c section is PEAK white female delusion. Get over urself ho ... I know you wish you could be my bestie but bitch, it's fucking boring as hell. Let it go."

Banks threaded a few more posts of that ilk, including a dig about Grimes still being "the same dirty lil white bitch from McGill that drinks tap water and eats Spaghetti."

Grimes didn't fall for the bait, replying: "It's just a funny joke bro. not trying to paint u as a villain [sic]." After clarifying that she was the one who left Musk, and that one of her children was sleeping beside her, she ended the interaction by writing, "Ur insanely talented. even after all this, I want u to win. god bless Mlady [sic]."

The pair's beef dates back to a collaboration attempt in 2018, when Grimes allegedly stood Banks up at Musk's house. This led to them both being subpoenaed by Tesla investors, a diss track and a slew of quotable social media posts, of course.
