Bahamas has gone classic country, as the Canadian singer-songwriter also known as Afie Jurvanen has announced Bootcut, due out September 15.

Jurvanen recorded the album at Nashville's Sound Emporium with producers Robbie Lackritz (Feist, Peach Pit) and Dan Knobler (Allison Russell, Lake Street Drive), using a band full of seasoned Nashville ringers. According to a press release, the album leans fully into country influences while also making room for "wit, bizarro guitar solos, and the ever-so-clever storytelling that filters time-honoured themes through a distinctly modern lens."

For a taste of the new sound, Bootcut tracks "Working on My Guitar," "Somebody Just Like Me" and "Second Time Around" are streaming. Hear those below, with the artist's previously announced tour schedule below that.

Bootcut is the follow-up to 2020's Sad Hunk. Read our Questionnaire interview with Jurvanen from that time.
