Last year, Ontario pop rockers the Balconies won a whopping $80,000 in Live 88.5's Big Money Shot competition. They have since put that money to good use, recording a new album with big-name Canuck producer Jon Drew (Fucked Up, Tokyo Police Club). There's no word on when the LP will be out, but the band are preparing to release a new seven-inch containing two Drew-produced tracks.
The vinyl will be available on June 14. It contains two songs, "Kill Count" and "Tiger," which can be heard in the SoundCloud player below.
If you live in Ottawa or Montreal, you may be able to pick up the single early, since the Balconies have two release shows planned for this weekend (May 13 to 14). The trio also have a handful of live dates coming up in June and July, so check out the schedule below.
