Band of Horses' signature song "The Funeral" is close to a decade old, but Canadian producer Excision has now breathed new life into this 2006 single with a remix.
The beginning of the song is fairly faithful to the original, with gentle guitar arpeggios and reverent singing. Things take a turn at the one-minute mark, however, as a pulse-racing build-up gives way to a booming electronic beat. The tempo is too slow for this to be a proper dance banger, but Excision draws heavily on his dubstep background while also showing restraint and staying relatively true to the structure of the tune.
