Former president and current influential playlister Barack Obama is continuing his yearly tradition of releasing a summer 2021 playlist.
The 38-song playlist is a mix of recent buzz artists and decades-old classics. Disappointingly, there's no Canadian indie music this time around — his 2020 playlists included Andy Shauf in the summer and Lido Pimienta at the end of the year — although there is a little CanCon in the form of Joni Mitchell's "Coyote" and Drake's "Wants and Needs."
Beyond that, the playlist includes recent tunes from SZA, J. Cole, Migos, H.E.R. and Jazmine Sullivan, while canonical classics come via the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Jay-Z, Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald. Check out the whole thing below.
