Beach Fossils Announce What a Pleasure EP, Share New Track

Despite a band name that's bound to align them with summer pop bands like Best Coast and Wavves, Brooklyn's Beach Fossils set themselves apart with this year's jangly self titled debut. In 2011, the group will continue mining vintage British indie pop with a new EP, What a Pleasure.

The details of the release are still scarce, but Pitchfork reports that the EP is set to drop on February 22 via Captured Tracks. You can see the album cover above.

Judging by the single, "Calyer," the EP promises to offer more of the chiming, reverb-soaked pop of this year's LP. If you enjoyed that album's dense, Johnny Marr-style guitar riffs, you're bound to like this too. The track is embedded below.

This isn't all that Beach Fossils have planned for 2011. The Captured Tracks website indicates that "Calyer" will be released on seven-inch vinyl on January 11. The band's sophomore album is also expected to drop in the coming months, as the listing reads "TBA 2nd LP/CD - April ??, 2011."
