Beach Fossils Reveal New Album, Get Blonde Redhead's Kazu Makino to Guest

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 4, 2012

When Beach Fossils emerged with their self-titled debut album back in 2010, the Brooklyn-based band's jangling guitars and hazy reverb fit right in with the sound de jour. Now, more than two years later, the Dustin Payseur-led project are back with album number two. Entitled Clash the Truth, it's out on February 19 through Captured Tracks.

The 14-song collection was recorded with Ben Greenburg (the Men, Hubble, Zs) and mastered by Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, the National). Notably, Blonde Redhead frontwoman Kazu Makino guests on the track "In Vertigo."

That's the above cover above. Peruse the tracklist below, and scroll past that to hear the album cut "Careless." Judging by this tune, Beach Fossils haven't lost their taste for dreamy, retro-tinged indie pop.

This album follows Beach Fossils' 2011 EP What a Pleasure, as well as this year's Shallow 7-inch.
