Winnipeg's Begonia opened her 2019 debut Fear with "The Other Side," and the singer-songwriter has now given it the music video treatment.
Directed by Emma Higgins, the video was shot during Begonia's lone day off during a pre-pandemic Canadian tour. In it, she showcases her powerful vocal delivery among the lush greenery of a forest and from under vaulted ceilings, while lighting and visual effects round out the visual. You can take it in below.
"This video explores the idea of human perception," Higgins explained in a statement. "Despite what our belief systems have taught us, we will really never be able to know all the answers. Our experiences provide us only a small window to a bigger picture."
Begonia added: "So much has changed since we filmed this and now watching it holds even more significance to me. It's so cool to see Emma's interpretation of this song that is super close to my heart."
Begonia was named Pop Artist of the Year at the 2019 Western Canadian Music Awards, while Exclaim! named Fear one of the 10 Most Underrated Albums of 2019.
