The Besnard Lakes Announce Canadian Tour, Play Fallon

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 17, 2010

This year is shaping up to be a big one for Montreal's dreamy epic rockers the Besnard Lakes. The group contributed the score to the Mark Ruffalo-directed Sympathy for Delicious, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival back in January. Now, they're gearing up to release their third album, The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night, on March 9 via Outside Music.

In support of the new album, the Besnard Lakes will be heading out on the road for a Canadian tour, beginning in Toronto on March 11 for a date at Canadian Music Week. The band will make the trip to Austin, TX as well for a stop at SXSW, plus appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on March 23.

The Besnard Lakes will also be heading west for a series of Canadian dates with Hollerado, the power pop outfit who recently won $250,000 in a battle of the bands competition.

There's no word on whether the Besnard Lakes will be fleshing out their tour with any more eastern Canadian dates. They do have a month off between tour legs, however, so don't be too surprised if some more shows get announced.
